The drugs don't work

Wow, Vioxx is pulled off the market and Merck's stock plunges.

Like so many others, I took it for arthritis and acute pain after my last knee surgery. l stopped when the talk around the physical therapist's gym was very negative about it--and Jerry Rice and Dan O'Brien were two of the clients doing the talking. I also remember Alonzo Mourning speculating on SportsCenter about it contributing to his health problems. It took five years for Merck to pull it. How does this happen? Celebrex is next?

And I'm sure glad I didn't buy that Merck stock in my 401K last week. Pharmaceuticals are risky, risky.
