The mess we're in

Because I really like savage and disturbing stories about male angst and misognyand Neil LaBute is the master at telling such stories, I just bought his new book 'Seconds of Pleasure.' By coincidence, which was a pleasure for me, the jacket sports Eric Fischl's painting 'The Bed, The Chair, The Sitter,' one of my favorite by him. From what I've read of the book so far, the painting and the stories are a perfect match (and both are full of fierce and provocative imagery).
