Makings of you

Today I was waiting for a friend's hair appointment to finish in a super slick, hipster salon. I was thumbing through the latest Wallpaper mag, listening to the cool music, checking out the scene.

Suddenly the lead stylist ($165 haircut, thank you very much and never even acknowledged my existence the hour I sat there) stopped cutting the woman's hair who was sitting in his chair, turned to me and said very loudly "You should have short hair and you should wear it dark."

I said, "Excuse me?", perplexed (but not frowning on account of handsome Dr. Brad's work on Wednesday).

"You should have short hair and you should wear it dark." He paused looked me right in the eyes "I have a vision for you." Then he turned back around abruptly and continued cutting his client's hair.

That was it.

Don't worry, I'm still a blonde and still have shoulder length curls.
(there's a story about my friend's stylist too, equally silly but at least flattering...as I sat on the couch he walked over and stood right in front of me a little too close and then he just stared down at me for a little too long amount of time and not being sure what it was all about and being a little perplexed already, i stared back and then finally, with a little smile, he said quietly "your eyes are beautiful...they are likeemeralds.")
