Favorites week ending 04.02.17
I spent a wonderful couple of hours at LACMA and then attended the opening at Sprüth Magers across the street.
This room (and the Motherwell in particular) continues to take my breath away, year after year. I also greatly enjoyed the Moholy-Nagy and Dwan Gallery special exhibitions.
The series of mockups Rauschenberg made for his exhibition at Dwan are incredible.
I'll be going back for some longer looks, I ran out of time and the museum closed.
POWER curated by Todd Levin at Sprüth Magers is incredible. A must see (but not in my iPhone pics, which are mostly crap. The thumbnail of this post is Sterling Ruby also at the gallery—not part of the show, per se, but yet very much of the show.)
I've been continuing my Flaunt magazine collage project. And putting them up on the corner pole as I go.
As usual some of my favorite moments of the week were walking around the neighborhood, which this week included checking out the gorgeous, nuanced paintings of David Reed at 356 Mission and Joe Zucker and Carol Bove at Maccarone.
