You can pretty much do anything

It occured to me that my recent collages have been made from using just three cuts. An odd, unknowing-while-making coincidence. I think of three as an uncomfortable number—disrupting a pair, a bit wishy-washy in its assertion (be bold! don’t just be three!). But here it is, the right fit. Three is enough.

All titles of the works are from Elaine Kahn’s book of poems Romance or The End. It’s the right book at the time. For me.

This has been the worst year. Cutting up someone else’s images and putting them back together again brings distraction and comfort. They are a puzzles of my own making, with only right answers.
