The first time I voted I just barely made the deadline to register. I had only been 18 for for a week or so when voting day came.

I was really nervous.

I thought it was a test. I stood in the long line with homemade flash cards, frantically trying to memorize my selections. I didn't realize that I could take my notes and sample ballot into the booth with me.
